Our Origin Story
Hey y’all! I’m Anthonie “AJ” Rookard—owner, lead planner, and chaos-coordinator-in-chief at The Princes & the Lily Events Co.
My journey into event planning started with the birth of my oldest son—the very first prince of The Princes & the Lily. I was determined to create the perfect baby shower for him and spent days visiting every paper shop in Spartanburg, SC to design the dream invitation.
It was supposed to be a simple detail… but it lit a spark.
I fell in love with the process—the planning, the logistics, the creativity, the challenge of bringing everything and everyone together at the right place and time. From that moment, I knew: this was it.
Fast forward a few years (and a few more princes + one sweet lily later 💙💙💙💗), and here I am—helping couples create celebrations that feel authentic, joyful, and completely stress-free.
With 10 years of corporate experience in sales and customer service, I’ve learned how to stay calm under pressure, advocate for my clients, and get results with a smile. Now I bring that same energy to wedding days—handling the chaos so you don’t have to.
